History

Computerizing was established in 1970 in Scottsboro, Alabama. Bob Starkey, the company's founder and CEO, wanted to use his degree in accounting and his love for technology to help small businesses grow. In the 1970's Computerizing received national recognition for developing a plumbing and electrical wholesale supply system that managed over 11,000 items. This achievement was accomplished at a time when small business automation was in its infancy. The development of this wholesale supply system allowed Computerizing to refine its skills in software development and system design.

Then, in 1984, Computerizing decided to focus exclusively on the petroleum and convenience store industries. To gain the valuable industry expertise that would be required to develop a cost-effective system, company employees literally 'lived' in the offices of oil jobbers, C-Store owners and tank owners. Their time was spent analyzing and documenting the business processes required to be successful in these industries. Special attention was given to tax and regulatory standards. By 1986, enough research was completed that Computerizing began testing its first system concepts in the field. In 1988, with numerous field tests completed Computerizing had the system concepts in place that would serve as the foundation for all future software development. As anticipated, our commitment to obtain in-depth industry expertise before designing the first program for the petroleum industry has always given us a distinct advantage over our competitors.

Computerizing's oil jobber, compliance and C-Store systems are easy to use, cost-effective solutions that provide positive return on the technology dollars spent.

Computerizing brings to your business thirty-seven years of technology experience, consultant-level industry expertise and affordability.
